My Emmy Awards Best Dressed
The 67th Emmy Awards…yes! It was great watching last night, for those of us were not glued to the football game. And then there’s those of us who were flipping back and forth hoping not to miss a touchdown on the red carpet! As we Tweet, Facebook our excitement of the awards given out last night especially to the Beautiful Viola Davis, fashionistas like myself couldn’t hide our excitement of all the beautiful dresses on the red carpet. We all have our own opinions of who are favorites were last night but here is a list of my 5 Favorite Best Dressed Women who wore it best:
I may be biased but Viola Davis looked stunning and angelic in this beautiful white gown by Carmen Marc Valvo. She WON huge last night as the First African American Woman to win an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama. Viola Davis has made history and she represented with such charisma and humility. And her speech…I can not describe in words. She spoke from the heart!
Taraji P. Henson, star of Empire, took the LBD – Little Black Dress to another level, from the chain straps, the heart shape cut out bust line…this Alexander Wang dress gives her sex appeal without being too revealing. Always looking stunning, she pulled off this look with such ease. With her shoulder length straight bob she definitely has given us the motivation to go find that LBD.
Ariel Winter, star of Modern Family, looked flawless in her Romona Keveza dress. She rocked this form-fitting red dress with confidence on the red carpet with her beautiful curves. The asymmetrical top of her dress is unique and the mermaid tail at the bottom gives me life! She knows her body and her curves and she embraced in this dress.
Teyonah Parris, star of Mad Men, is giving us that innocent and girly look in her Francesca Miranda black and white polka dot dress. I just love how playful this dress is and it works with her personality. And her natural hair is gorgeous, giving us that 50’s look.
Gina Rodriguez, star of Jane the Virgin, is a sparkling beauty in her Lorena Sarbu dress. She accessorizes with simple diamond jewelry and her hair pulled back in a ponytail. I love how she put all of this together without overdoing and over-accessorizing. With a beautiful dress like this, it should not be overshadowed with a fancy hairdo or fancy jewelry.
These women turned heads on the red carpet last night and they will continue to display their style as you watch them television. They not only represent well on the set but off the set they are trend-setters!
